Running east from Old Steine towards the marina, St James’s Street is the oldest shopping street in Brighton and Hove. Originally built to service wealthy new residents in the early 1800s by property developer Thomas Kemp – after whom the wider area of Kemp Town was named – it was once described as the Bond Street of Brighton with its luxury stores.
